Kicking around inlay ideas for the headstock.

Had fun drawing doodles with MrsNYbill about a possible inlay for the headstock area. One design we got a kick out of was a "vine and leaf". For three years now we have tried to grow Heavenly Blue morning glory's out by our shed. We never get any flowers. Just vines and leaves.

As for the fret board, personally, I prefer no markers on the face of the board itself. If I am trying to copy an instrument, I will try and copy it as close as possible. But, this is a guitar that is just "made in the style of" out of scraps found around the shop. I will sometimes use a inlay design at the 12th fret that I have used some 20 years. Or, I might just leave it bare. I have always found the dot markers on the top/binding of the fret board adequate for figuring out where you want your fingers to be. Anything on the face of the fret board is just decoration, IMO.
