It dawned on me the other day how silly I must have looked trying to solder a SMD part using a jewelers loupe while shining a flash light on the part. Then it hit me, the last thing I needed for the electronics bench, a light source and some magnification!

I looked around and found a nice LED lamp mounted on spring arms. Open the top lid and there is a 5x lens in there. Perfect!
